About

Bruce Barone

Founder of Civic Bitcoin.

Bruce Barone is the founder of Civic Bitcoin, a civic development platform advancing Bitcoin Urbanism in Southwest Florida. A former Executive Director of the Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (FASBID), he studies how towns build value through real estate, architecture, infrastructure, energy, public assets, local institutions, and hard-money thinking.

The lens is practical before it is theoretical. Running a flagship main-street district means working where civic value is actually made: storefronts and leases, merchants and property owners, parking counts and tourism seasons, festivals and streetscapes, city hall and county government. Civic Bitcoin brings that operating experience to the balance sheet of whole towns — real estate, architecture, public assets, and civic institutions — and adds the discipline of Bitcoin-era capital: honest units of account, long horizons, and reserves that hold.

Civic Bitcoin is a civic development platform for Bitcoin Urbanism: the study of how hard money, real estate, architecture, infrastructure, energy, public assets, and local institutions shape stronger towns.
